I stayed at the hotel many times in the past and always used to get a great upgrade to a suite as a Platinum Accor member but the management has changed and are not so accomodating. I stayed in March 2025 for nearly 3 weeks and was not advised before my arrival that the swimming pool was closed for renovations. However, I was able to use the pool at another hotel during my stay but had to take a taxi there and back. I returned to the hotel in August intending to stay for a couple of weeks again but ended up cancelling most of my reservations to stay in different Accor hotels which offered a better experience, namely a better breakfast, a bigger pool, a better upgrade to a suite and a much better club lounge. As mentioned in the title, the armchairs in the lounge are extremely uncomfortable. They are very low down and really heavy to move. I usually took the seat cushion from other armchairs to put on top of mine and always found all sorts of interesting things under them. It looked like nobody had bothered to clean them for a decade. The afternoon tea from 3.30-5.30pm left a lot to be desired. The sandwiches often consisted of a wilted lettuce leaf and a tiny square of cheddar cheese. One day I specifically asked the hostess not to give me any food with olives. She brought back some sandwiches with black sliced olives on top and when I asked her what they were, she told me they were mushrooms! I had to get another member of staff to explain to her that they were in fact olives. During the evening canapés from 6.30-8.30pm the food was better but I had to keep getting up from my armchair, which was no mean feat given how heavy they were, to walk to the lounge reception area to ask for more wine which was parsimoniously poured out resulting in many trips to that desk. I was better served by Neha in March who was very attentive to the level of my wine glass. There were no napkins in the lounge and I had to constantly ask for them. There were boxes of tissues on the tables but tissues are for blowing your nose and are not a substitute for real napkins. My upgraded room on the pool level with a small terrace was actually fine and I appreciated the shelf space especially the long shelf under the TV where I could lay out all my things. I lost my tiny USB key one day and couldn't find it anywhere. Two housekeepers arrived and we turned the place upside down. You don't even want to know all the things I found under the bed. I finally found it one night when I put my feet up on an armchair and felt something hard against my toes. It had fallen down into a corner of the armchair and if I hadn't put my feet up, it would probably still be there. I had a long shower one day in the walk-in shower and when I turned round I found the whole bathroom under a foot of water so I didn't even need to walk to the pool to go for a swim. I have to thank the long-suffering Duty Manager Shinu for listening to my litany of complaints in March and August and for doing his best to resolve them. I was pleased to see Rubie on reception who remembered me from previous stays years ago and always gave me a nice welcome. The other staff on reception were really nice too. Moose and Sanjok were just two of the many great housekeepers who kept my room spick and span. Bishal and Shivam were just two of the porters who efficiently handled my mountains of luggage during all my comings and goings. The hotel has several restaurants and a bar if you don't mind cigarette smoke; the gym is old but really good; the pool is open till 11pm; the hotel is close to the airport; the Irish Village is a short taxi ride away and you can walk next door to Le Méridien Village both of which have a great selection of bars and restaurants. Hopefully they will replace the armchairs before my next visit.
I've stayed at this hotel twice in the last two years and would have no hesitation in doing so again. It is close to the airport and it's staff and amenities are excellent - a choice of five restaurants, lovely rooms with everything you need and nice friendly staff. The air conditioning in the rooms is excellent and there is no noise heard.
Amazing service with great customer support, the room service was great specially with Nobin, which always took the time to do the extra things. The rooms are nice and the pool is great.
I had a wonderful stay at Mövenpick Hotel in Dubai. The breakfast buffet was amazing with a wide variety of delicious options. I especially want to thank Myat for the warm and attentive service—it really made my experience even better. Highly recommend!
